Tell us about yourself! Hometown, where you work, important people in your life, how you enjoy spending your free time etc.
I'm originally from Minnesota but moved to California when I joined the Marine Corps and then moved outside of Yosemite where I guided for a number of years. I moved to Boulder for graduate school and now am a therapist in North Boulder.
What's your background in sport/fitness/movement?
It's been diverse. From rucking in the Marine Corps to trail triathlons and guiding mountaineering in the Sierra Nevada's. But traditionally, it's been endurance sports without a lot of balance in strength.
What's your favorite thing about being a member at Sanitas?
Everything! The coaches are insanely capable athletes with incredible programming and are kind people. I enjoy that the people I work out alongside vary so greatly in their abilities and reasons for coming to CrossFit. To be honest, I've loathed the machismo of traditional gym culture and worried CrossFit would foster that but Sanitas' coaches and athletes are often kind and encouraging people. I love working out with you all!
What are your favorite CrossFit movements?
I like it all! Rig work, gymnastics, barbell, endurance. But, if i'm honest, machines are, sometimes… so boring!
What do you like to do when you’re not in the gym?
Life feels richest to me when it's spent with people I love, doing adventurous things. My ideal day would be spent in nature with friends and then coming home and making a meal together.
